Our teas come exclusively from Georgia, where water, geography, and history have quietly preserved one of the world’s most natural tea-growing environments.

OUR BEGINNING

ORIGIN LEAF was founded in 1991, the same year Georgia regained its independence.

For the country, it was a moment of reclaiming land, agriculture, and identity after decades of centralized control.

For us, it marked the beginning of a long-term commitment—to protect tea in its most original form.

During the Soviet era, Georgia was designated as the primary tea-producing region of the Union, chosen for its mountains, climate, and exceptional water resources.

After independence, industrial systems disappeared almost overnight.
What remained was the land—and the farmers who chose to stay with it.
Without machinery, without shortcuts, tea cultivation returned to a slower, more deliberate pace.

ORIGIN LEAF grew out of this return to scale, patience, and respect for origin.

WHERE WE GROW:
GURIA, GEORGIA

All ORIGIN LEAF teas are grown in Guria, western Georgia—the country’s largest tea-growing region and the historical heart of Georgian tea culture.

Guria is defined by water.

Mountain springs, underground mineral reserves, and naturally filtered freshwater systems shape the soil and sustain the plants.
The water used to cultivate our tea is drinkable-grade natural mineral water, pure enough for direct human consumption and requiring no industrial treatment.

Here, water is not an input.

It is the environment itself.
